SERIAL HUB FEATURES
- Uses Motorola MC68705P3S microprocessor
- Full crosspoint switching of 16 Receive Data lines to 16 Transmit Data lines and local emulated UART
- Most often used to arbitrate a "public" bus line, where one port can "talk" to all the others
- Capable of receiving and responding to network traffic, including configuration request/replies
- Because it is a crosspoint switch, individual "private" connections between 2 or more ports can be established
- Because it is a switch, and not a network node, data speeds of private connections are unlimited
- Includes timeout logic for talkers on the public bus to prevent hanging
- Private mode to eliminate all but private traffic
- Prioritized camp-on-busy logic for private connection requests
- The Video signal paths
- The Audio signal paths
- The Control signal paths
